LinQo ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the LinQo keyboard application and website.

2. Information We Collect

We collect minimal information necessary to provide our translation services:

• Account information: Email address (if you create an account), chosen language preferences.
• Translation data: Text you submit for translation is sent to our servers for processing. We do not store the content of your translations after processing is complete.
• Usage data: Daily translation count for plan limit enforcement, app version, device type (anonymized).

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve our translation services.
• To manage your account and subscription.
• To enforce usage limits according to your plan.
• To communicate with you about service updates.

4. iOS Custom Keyboard & "Full Access"

Apple requires all custom keyboards with network functionality to request "Full Access." We DO NOT log your keystrokes, passwords, credit card numbers, or personal messages.

• Why we need Full Access: Our keyboard connects to our secure translation servers to translate text in real-time. Without internet access, the translation API cannot function.
• What is sent: Only the text you explicitly type into the keyboard at the moment you press the "Translate" button is sent to our servers for translation.
• Secure Fields: Our keyboard automatically disables all network and autocompletion features when you are typing in sensitive fields (like password or OTP fields).

5. Ephemeral Voice & Text Processing

All text and audio data sent through LinQo is processed ephemerally.

• Voice Translation: Audio recorded via your microphone is streamed directly to our speech-to-text providers (e.g., Deepgram) and translation services (e.g., OpenAI, DeepL) and is immediately discarded after processing. We do not store audio recordings.
• Text Translation: Text sent for translation is processed and returned. We do not store a history of your translated messages on our servers.

6. Data Processing & Third Parties

To provide high-quality translations and AI features, we utilize third-party APIs. We have zero-data-retention agreements with these providers where applicable, ensuring your data is not used to train their models:

• OpenAI API — for AI-powered translation, tone adaptation, and rephrase features.
• Deepgram — for real-time multilingual Speech-to-Text.
• ElevenLabs — for premium Text-to-Speech voices.
• DeepL & Google Cloud — for fallback machine translation.

Your text and audio are sent to these services solely for processing and are not stored by them beyond the request.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS 1.2+) and Secure WebRTC.
• API authentication via JWT tokens.
• We never store the content of your translated messages or audio on our servers.
• Database credentials and API keys are stored as encrypted environment variables.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Usage logs (translation counts only, no message content) are retained for billing purposes. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Export your data in a portable format.

10. Children's Privacy

LinQo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email.
